Poon Hill Trek- 14 Days- Perfect yoga and mindfulness

Poon Hill Trek follows one of the most popular Himalayan trails that Nepal has to offer, the Annapurna Base Camp trail. The highest elevation during this trek is 3210m and the less strenuous nature of the hike makes this trip moderately accessible for people of various age groups. As the final destination of this trek will take you to Poon Hill, you will get to enjoy one of the most beautiful sunrises of your life.

Poon Hill Trek starts from a day of sightseeing at Kathmandu valley. You will get to see all the historic attractions and heritage sites in all three sister cities of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur. The next phase begins at Pokhara, where after half day of sightseeing you will be taken to the retreat center in the evening. You will be greeted by our lovely hosts and your day will end with an oil massage followed by a hot shower.

It is okay even if you are a total novice as our experienced teachers will lay a solid foundation for you to start with. Our sessions are equally suitable for beginners and the advanced alike. The mornings will be devoted to Pranayama and you will be performing other yoga and meditation practices for rest of the day. After a couple of days of practice, it is time to embark on another half of the journey.

The fruitful sessions of yoga and meditation will get you ready for the journey ahead, as relaxation of muscle as well as the mind will be very important. This beautiful combination of outer and inner work will be an experience that you would be always thankful for. During Poon Hill Trek, you will see the sky wreathed by majestic mountains like Annapurna-I, Annapurna-II, Annapurna-III, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung, Manaslu, and others.

The terraced slopes that seem like a cascade of lush green paddy fields, traditional houses that are unique in their design and reflect continuation of ancient architecture, rich and diverse local culture and traditions, warm and welcoming local villagers, the monumental Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Ranges silently standing over blooming rhododendron forests thickly covered in moss, the list goes on and on.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft), Check in hotel (B&B plan).
Day 2 :
Sightseeing, cultural tour followed by preparation for the trip.
Day 3 :
Drive/Fly to pokhara, half-day sightseeing of nearby attractions.
Day 4 :
Yoga and meditation sessions at the retreat.
Day 5 :
Yoga and meditation sessions at the retreat.
Day 6 :
Drive to Tikhedhunga, trek to Ulleri. (2 hours)
Day 7 :
Trek to Ghorepani (6 hours)
Day 8 :
Trek to Tadapani after watching sunrise at Poon Hill, overnight stay. (6 hours)
Day 9 :
Trek to Ghandruk (5 hours), overnight stay.
Day 10 :
Drive back to pokhara
Day 11 :
Yoga, massage and meditation session.
Day 12 :
Yoga, massage and meditation session.
Day 13 :
Drive/Fly back to Kathmandu.
Day 14 :
Departure day.
