Introduction of Bhimtang valley:

Hidden in the heart of Nepal’s Manang district, Bhimtang is the kind of place you stumble upon and never forget. It’s peaceful, raw, and surrounded by towering peaks — a true Himalayan gem.

📍 Where Is Bhimtang?

Bhimtang is a scenic mountain village located at around 3,590 meters above sea level in the Manang district, Nepal. It sits on a wide grassland plateau, surrounded by some of the most stunning peaks of the Manaslu region.

Whether you’re trekking the Manaslu Circuit or looking for a serene side-trip, Bhimtang offers nature at its purest.

🚶‍♂️ Getting There

Most travelers reach Bhimtang as part of the Manaslu Circuit Trek, crossing Larke La Pass (5,106 m) — one of the trek’s highlights. For those short on time, it’s also possible to access Bhimtang from Dharapani via a 2–3 day trek.

🗺️ TIP: Start from Gho village if you’re coming from the Annapurna side for a shorter approach.

🛏️ Where to Stay

Even though it’s remote, Bhimtang has some lovely, cozy accommodations:
– Cottage-style guesthouses with warm blankets and mountain views
– Spacious dining halls serving dal bhat, tea, and even apple pies!
– Basic lodges with solar-powered hot showers and charging points

It’s the perfect place to rest after crossing the high pass or before starting a new adventure.

🌄 Don’t Miss: The Glacier Walk

Just 10 minutes from the village lies one of Bhimtang’s best-kept secrets — a massive glacier with small shimmering turquoise lakes. The short walk offers jaw-dropping views of Manaslu, Himlung, and Cheo Himal. This is not the end; there is a huge glacier, Ponker Lake, higher above. It may take 2 hours by walk and the experience can be rewarding. Nevertheless, you can see Larke Peak, Himlung, and many towering white peaks along the wide glaciers.

📸 Bring your camera — sunrise and sunset here are unreal.

🎒 What to Pack

– Layers (it gets chilly even in spring!)
– Trekking poles
– Water purification tablets
– Sunscreen & lip balm
– A light camera or phone with storage space for photos!

🌿 Final Thoughts

Bhimtang isn’t just another stop on a trek — it’s a place where nature feels sacred, the silence is healing, and the views are unforgettable.

If you’re looking to go beyond the typical trails and uncover something truly special, put Bhimtang on your trekking list.
