Once we reach Pokhara, after exploring the cultural heritage site of Kathmandu Valley, we spend a day there for further sightseeing. The next exciting phase will be our trek to Poon Hill, from where we can see the first golden rays of the sun, adorning the snow-capped mountain tops. This is one of the most beautiful sunrise spots that Nepal has to offer and there will be more amazing experiences along the way to Lower Mustang Trek.

Once, we reach Tatopani, which literally means- ‘hot water, you can enjoy natural hot water springs which are believed to have therapeutic value. As we move on, the village of Marpha, which is famous for their apple in the whole of Nepal, one can see town watered by paved canals and green orchards and it is advised to try a slice of apple pie as well as, local brandy and cider. 

Once we reach Muktinath, which is the highlight of Lower Mustang Trek, we can see the beauty of Nepalese spirituality, that being a harmonious representation of both Buddhist and Hindu culture. There is a temple of Lord Vishnu along with a Buddhist Gumba, also, an eternal flame that burns with the help of Natural gas. 

Thus, this trek encompasses serene picturesque valleys and deep gorges, awe-inspiring majestic mountains, unique culture and traditions, and finally a spiritual hub that speaks to a multitude of religions! 

The Lower Mustang Trek can be experienced by trek if you are a novice trekker. Motorable road is being upgraded and it is accessible by jeep and bus too. Itinerary

After landing at the Tribhuwan International Airport, we will be greeted by a representative of Trek Venture Nepal, who will drop us off at our hotel. We then check-in at the hotel, freshen up and take a rest. In the evening, a welcome dinner will be hosted by Trek Venture Nepal. Overnight in Kathmandu.

We tour Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. The Durbar Square reveals the life of the royals in ancient times. Pashupatinath temple is one of the most important places of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the Monkey Temple and Baudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world.

We have breakfast then leave for Pokhara, also known as The Lake City owing to the large number of lakes in the city. Upon our arrival in Pokhara, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26,794ft), Manaslu (8,156m/26,759ft), Machhapuchhre (6,993m/22,943ft), the five peaks of Annapurna and others. We then check-in to our hotel and take a rest. We enjoy boating in the Fewa Lake and stroll in the city’s quaint streets. Overnight in Pokhara.

We leave early in the morning by drive to Nayapool and there will be stop in the way for our road side quick breakfast. Today is combination of drive and the real hike to Ghodepani. The trial for the day is moderate uphill. Not to forget, the first view of Annapurna 1 while climbing the steps after Ulleri.

Poon hill is the best view point of Annapurna,Dhaulagiri, Machapuchre mounatains. The first sunrise over the mountain will be the highlight of the trip and the day. We trek towards Tatopani for the the day. Which is downhill hike towards Kaligandagi river. Overnight in the guest house.

We start our day ahead after the breakfast. We take the trail that goes through Kali Gandaki River and world’s deepest Kali Gandaki valley and continue the walk via cascading Danam Rupse waterfall and Kopchepani village. Ghasa is famous for ethnic culture where you can explore and observe their unique culture, lifestyle, tradition and activities. Thakali the popular native tribe of Nepal settle in this place.

Today, we walk through forest to Lete Khola which eventually leads to Lete village. After that we walk along with Kali Gandaki River to reach Larjung village. From here we pass Tukche village and apple farm project to reach capital of apple garden at Marpha village. Relax the rest of the evening and try to taste the local apple brandy of Marpha.

We begin the walk to Kagbeni after having breakfast in Marpha. We walk following ascends trail and cross low ridge of Jomsom valley. We pass Panga Khola to reach small settlements Ekle Bhatti. We make lunch break and then continue the trek towards Kagbeni. After few hours walk we reach Kagbeni, which lies in the bank of two river’s and also old Trans-Himalayan salt trade route of Tibet and Upper Mustang area.

Today we trek to our final destiinaton point reknown as holly place for Hindu and also Buddhist pilgrims. We will be permitted to trek ahead after required permit procedure are made. We slowly asscend and walk to the Khingar (3,200m) and then climb up through desert landscapes until Jharkot village. Lastly, one more push up to Muktinath.Relax the rest of the evening, and learn what the local has to say about the holly place of himalaya.

We head towards Muktinath temple in the morning after our breakfast. Muktinath literally means 'place of liberation' and temple of Lord Vishnu. We will pay our visit to the Monastary and stupa laying below famed Thorong La.Later, we descends towardsl Jharkot and continuous motor road all the way to Jomsom, thus it is also an option to have a jeep drive from Muktinath to Jomsom.

We prepare to leave for Pokhara after breakfast in hotel. We board inside airport terminal an hour earlier before flight. Make sure we leave no trash and farewell to Mustang. We will be transfer to our hotel by private vechicle and the rest day at a leisure.

After breakfast, we say goodbye to the beautiful northern skyline of Pokhara and drive towards Kathmandu. This will be a journey along river banks with wonderful views of terraced hills and the rural Nepalese lifestyle. After reaching Kathmandu, we take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Our Lower Mustang Trek in Nepal comes to an end today! A representative from Trek Venture Nepal will take us to the airport approximately three hours before the scheduled flight. On our flight back home, we take with us amazing memories of our Lower Mustang trip and Nepal.
