On our way to the ancient Tibetan town of Lo Manthang, you will ride through a variety of rough terrains, dusty gravel roads, rocky ascents, water crossings, etc. Thus, good off-road riding skills and decent physical conditioning are required. The majestic views of the breathtaking Himalayas of the Annapurna range will be your witness as you cruise towards the Forbidden Kingdom of Lo.

All the bikes and gears will be of the highest standard to ensure your safety. We at TVN take comfort and security of our clients with utmost seriousness. You are required to have a motorcycle license in order to complete this trip. You do have an option to bring your own bike but most of our clients chose to rent it in Kathmandu.

There are many brands to choose from but we do recommend KTM Duke, Tornado XR, or Honda CRF as per your preference, for their relative ease and comfort. Rental prices vary from 25 USD to 90 USD per day excluding the price for fuel.

Overview

Upper Mustang Dirt Bike Tour is a newly growing adventure tour that gives the thrilling experience of off-road adventure bike rides. We offer both mountain biking and dirt biking packages in this region. In the upper mustang dirt bike tour you will witness the majestic landscape overlooked by towering mountains and accompanied by a professional guide and backup vehicle.

Day 1 :

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft), Check in hotel (B&B plan).

After your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, Trek Venture Nepal representative will meet you in Airport. You will be guided to our vehicle and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 :

Sightseeing, cultural tour followed by preparation for the trip.

Today we take our bike as a test drive to the cultural heritage sites of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. This will prepare us for tomorrow's long ride. In the afternoon, we will arrange our trip gears and get ready for the ride to Upper Mustang.

Day 3 :

Ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara (200KM)

You are introduced to our professional guide to the Himalayas and the crews. He will share his experiences and story of his ride in Nepal. We start our ride in the morning around 8 am after breakfast at hotel. It is 7-8 hours ride with a lunch break in the highway. Pokhara has exotic views of the Annapurna Mountain range Beautiful lakes, hills, forests, and rivers. Check in to our hotel in pokhara and re-check our bike and gears. Overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 4 :

Ride from Pokhara to Kalopani. (125 km)

Our guide will brief you about today’s ride plan along with Do’s and Do not while you ride. We pass through Nepal’s longest suspension bridge and the world's second-highest bungee spot at Kusma. The ride continues through Beni bazaar and slowly we pass Ghasa, a gateway to mustang. Get ready for the off-road ride until you reach your overnight destination at Kalopani.

Day 5 :

Drive from Kalopani to Muktinath Temple to Kaagbeni (65 km)

Kali Gandaki River will be in our sight as we ride towards Muktinath. The road is mostly plain and bumpy. You will pass by Lete, Marpha, and Jomsom with a surrounding view of Mount Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri. We then touch the first 25 km paved road to Muktinath temple. Explore around temples and Buddhist Monasteries located at the elevation of 3800M. After the exploration is done, ride to another beautiful settlement Kagbeni for overnight.

Day 6 :

Ride from Kaagbeni to Ghami.

Preparation of gears for the ride ahead. There will be permit and documents re-check at the checkpoint of Kagbeni village. Along the ride we experience rocky trails and observe Tibetan-themed houses and settlements. we will pass through Chhusang (2,950 m), Chele, and Syanbochen villag. We will see the clusters of ancient cave dwellings high up on the dramatic rock face across the Kali Gandaki river. Overnight at guest house.

Day 7 :

Ride to Lomanthang, Overnight at guest house.

We will continue our bike ride journey to the forbidden kingdom of Lo. We will see the panoramic view of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri along with the longest mani walls of Ghami, through the village Tsarang from where we’ll ride up to Ghar Gumba, one of the oldest monastery in the area (8th century). We then reach our destination of the trip, Lo-Manthang.

Day 8 :

Ride to Tibetan border (kora la) explore choser cave. Overnight in Lomanthang.

We will Ride to Nepal and Tibet border Kora La which is about 20 KM from Lomanthang. Relax for a while and see the view of the Himalayas. We explore around ancient cities of Lo-Manthang village by walk and visit thousands of years old monasteries and the most fascinating caves at Chosar.

Day 9 :

Ride from Lomanthang to Ghilling village.

Ride back to Ghilling with the view of plateau land and the panoramic Himalayas during the whole day

Day 10 :

Ride back to Kagbeni.

We will experience downhill ride while returning back to kagbeni. Kagbeni is one of the oldest village of Mustang and we can stroll around the old style street of the area and experience different culture of people living in the area.

Day 11 :

Ride from Kagbeni to Tatopani.

Ride to Tatopani village after breakfast. We will pass via Jomsom, Marpha, and other typical villages. Tatopani meaning natural hot spring offers a relaxing warm bath. Enjoy bathing at Natural Hot Spring.Relax and overnight at guest house.

Day 12 :

Ride to Pokhara, Overnight at hotel.

Ride back to Pokhara passing Beni bazar and Kusma. Eventually, we will drive along the paved the paved road. Explore around pokhara, its lake and good ambience restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 :

Drive to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

We leave From Pokhara to Kathmandu by Prithivi highway, 200 km. The road pass by Damauli, Mugling,Dumre and we will stop for lunch on the way and continue riding on the same highway back to Kathmandu. Check into the hotel, and free to relax and explore around the city.

Farewell dinner at a good restaurant with our Crew member of the Upper mustang motorcycle tour. We are served delicious cuisine at a Typical Good Nepali restaurant.

Day 14 :

Final Departure

You will be dropped to airport by private vehicle 3 hours before your airport time. End of tour and service.
