EVEREST BUNGEE JUMP
The first Everest bungee jump is now open for adventure and thrill-seekers in the Everest region. This is a dream come true for the young entrepreneurs of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, and it sets an example as a new tourism attraction. Tourists visiting the Everest region can now enjoy hiking in Sagarmatha National Park along with the added thrill of a bungee jumping experience.
HOW IT STARTED
Chhepal first encountered the heart-pounding adventure of bungee jumping in the mid-2000s while visiting Tatopani, a location near the Tibet border. The adrenaline rush from the jump captivated him, igniting a strong desire to introduce this electrifying experience to the Everest region. Being one of the most renowned trekking destinations globally, Chhepal was determined to establish this thrilling activity in the area. In 2023, with the support of several passionate individuals, Chhepal established Everest Bungee, bringing the exhilarating leap to the breathtaking surroundings of the Everest region.
WHERE IS IT LOCATED
The Everest Bungee jump is situated on the Larcha Dovan, around 4 km above Jorsalle village and 7 km below Namche Bazaar. It is located along the famous Everest base camp Trek route.
IMPORTANT INFORMATIION
The bungee jump spot offers a breathtaking view of the Dudhkoshi River as it converges with other rivers to form a powerful waterway. Participants can take the plunge from a height of 145 feet, making it the shortest bungee jump in Nepal and an excellent choice for those new to the sport.
BEST TIME TO DO BUNGEE
The bungee jump facility is available throughout the year, with the exception of the winter season. The best times to enjoy this thrilling experience are during the spring and autumn months. If you are an avid trekker, consider giving bungee jumping a try after completing a trek, especially when traveling from Namche to Lukla. ITINERARY:
Day 01: Flying to Lukla is just the beginning of an incredible adventure. After landing, we’ll trek to Benkar and spend the night in a cozy lodge, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
Day 02: Trek to Namche, cross the Everest Bungee Jump bridge. You can try it at first sight or save it for your return.
Day 10: Trek back to Namche Bazaar and spend the night at the lodge.
Day 11: Start your journey with a trek to Larcha Dovan and make sure to reserve your turn for the jump. Following a briefing, it’s time to bravely take the leap. Once you’ve shown that you have conquered any fears, proceed with the hike downward towards Lukla.
